MMHO: Bostonia Public House
We’re introducing a new feature on the website. We’ll use the Monday Morning Hangover to review places we’ve gone to or things we’ve done when we’re NOT crawling. Restaurants, bars, tastings, event, we’ll cover them here.
We at Crawl in Boston will always lament the departed Kitty O’Sheas, but we quite like its replacement, Bostonia Public House. The bar is huge (having taken over both Kitty’s as well as the salon next door), and the place has a very nice, more upscale feel than most of the other bars in the Faneuil Hall/Financial District area. The bartending program is strong and they have a nice beer selection. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a favorite hangout for after work drinks. We particularly are fans of their lunch special prix fix menu. For $18 you get a starter and a main, and for the area it’s an amazing deal. Starter options include clam chowder, a pate plate, and a hummus plate. Our favorites are the homemade potato chips served with French onion dip and
the polenta fries, which are served with a delicious truffle aioli. There a variety of mains to choose from, including grilled salmon, chopped chicken salad, and aggressively large and tasty pulled pork, and two different salads. The star of the mains is definitely the lobster mac and cheese. We wondered if this would be a small portion due to the prix fix menu, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive large bowl of cheesy, lobstery goodness. They don’t skimp on the crustacean, there was ample lobster meat in each serving. Lobster mac and cheese is usually $18 or more any place you go, so it’s an especially good deal to get it here with a starter included. They also serve some amazing desserts, like the Bostonia creme pie, and we particularly like the sweet potato donuts with a bourbon glaze. They don’t skimp on the donut portion, so you might want to split with a friend! Served piping hot and decadent, they’re a perfect end to a good mail. They have live music many days, including during Sunday brunch, which also includes a bloody mary bar. Check out Bostonia for good drinks, great food, and a stellar lunch deal (but pour one out for our girl Kitty O’Sheas).

Halloween With Us
We’re under 2.5 weeks now. We’re predicting that we’ll run out of our regular tickets middle of next
week. Then we’ll be down to our last call tickets (which are a few dollars more). When those are gone, we’re out for good. Many items in the gift bags you get are very custom and we don’t have time to order additional items that will arrive in time.
There are other Halloween themed bar crawls. Make sure you get your tickets via Eventbrite from Crawl In Boston. You won’t get the same goodies with the other events.
Some local places to pick up a costume include Dorothy’s Boutique, New Millennium Costumes, Party City and The Garment District. Just don’t wait until the last minute. You’ll probably be waiting in line.
Stuff going on this weekend

MMHO: Corner Tavern
We’re introducing a new feature on the website. We’ll use the Monday Morning Hangover to review places we’ve gone or things we’ve done when we’re NOT crawling. Restaurants, bars, tastings, events, we’ll cover them here.
Corner Tavern is Sunday morning favorite for Team Crawl in Boston. Small and unassuming in the basement of a Back Bay
brownstone, Corner Tavern offers a relaxed atmosphere and good food, and is perfect for the morning after a crazy night out. The staff are laid back friendly, always up for trading weekend stories or comparing fantasy football teams. They make a mean Bloody Mary, and they have a small selection of interesting taps. Food wise, they offer a small but good selection. For brunch you can get a variety of egg based dishes. The Eggs Benedict are served classically and always perfectly cooked, served with roasted potatoes. The Duck Confit hash is hearty and delicious. They also offer a waffle sandwich and a breakfast sandwich. You can also get regular sandwiches for lunch like the Rosalita (turkey, gouda, slaw, and chipotle mayo, pressed into gooey goodness), a pulled pork sandwich, and a Buffalo chicken wrap (sandwiches are served with choice of roasted potatoes, pasta salad, or mixed greens). The star of the sandwich selection, however, is the meatloaf burger. Huge and decadent, this is definitely a hangover helper. A tasty slice of meatloaf served on a sturdy brioche bun, with chipotle ketchup, bacon, and cheese, this is an epic sandwich experience that has to be tried at least once. They have the Sunday Ticket during football season, albeit they show the games on very small screens throughout the bar. So it’s good if you want to catch a game, but also hang out with your friends with football not dominating the whole experience. They also lunch and dinner menus, including $2 Taco Tuesdays and weekly shot specials. Prices are decent, especially for Back Bay. Corner Tavern is a hotspot on weekend nights, usually full and boisterous. It’s a good for a quiet drink during the week, especially before a Sox Game if you want to avoid the crowds on Landsdowne.
The Halloween Crawl tickets are going strong. Ticket includes Drink specials at each bar, Beverage Mitt, Selfie Stick, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, Photo booth, Candy and no covers at scheduled bars.

MMHO: Yamato II
We’re introducing a new feature on the website. We’ll use the Monday Morning Hangover to review places we’ve gone or things
we’ve done when we’re NOT crawling. Restaurants, bars, tastings, events, we’ll cover them here.
All you can eat sushi has come to Back Bay. Yamato II (the original is in Brookline) has opened in the former Vlora space on Boylston, right near the Copley T stop. The space is well lit and cheerful with a mostly friendly staff. The menu is varied, and you can order a la carte, but the main event is the AYCE. Sunday to Thursday lunch is $17.50 and dinner is $25.00 (add a dollar for Friday and Saturday). The AYCE portion includes the whole menu: appetizers, rice, noodles, etc. We didn’t want to fill up on those, so we only sampled the crab Rangoon, which were good but pretty standard. On the sushi menu, you can choose sushi, sashimi, or rolls. Tuna and Salmon sashimi are only available during dinner, and specialty rolls are a dollar extra. There is a two hour limit, and if you have any leftovers, you’re charged double, so you don’t want to over order.
However, you can order multiple times, so you can go conservative and order more if you’re still hungry. Our server brought us fresh ordering sheets with our first platter of rolls, so we had time to contemplate. We started with tuna sashimi and octopus sushi, followed by a selection of makimono. They were all fresh and tasted quite good. The Crazy Maki, with shrimp tempura, was especially tasty. We got the New Spicy Scallop roll (from the special menu), and it was one of the best rolls we had, and worth the dollar upcharge. We ordered another round of sashimi and one more roll, and then threw in the towel, much to the dismay of our server—it seemed like she thought we were giving up. Overall, Yamato II is a fun atmosphere and a good choice for a different night out in Back Bay.
The Halloween Crawl tickets are going strong. Ticket includes Drink specials at each bar, Beverage Mitt, Selfie Stick, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, Photo booth, Candy and no covers at scheduled bars.

Neon Crawl Registration Info
Neon Light, Bright and Tight returns this Saturday!
We have a few points of order to help make the day go as smoothly as possible:
You will need to bring either a printed Eventbrite ticket or show the app on your phone. If you don’t have a paper ticket or the phone app, you can use your ID to pick up your ticket. Please be ready when you get to the top of the line. We’ll be checking in many of you and nobody wants to be stuck behind the person who doesn’t have any of their stuff ready.
Your ticket includes $3 drink option at each bar, Koozie, Sunglasses, Light Up Foam Baton, Light Up Bubble Blaster, Neon Mustache Chain, Musical Chairs Contest, Limbo Contest and Photo Booth
Registration opens at 12:00 sharp and ends at 3:00.
12:00 – 2:00 – Paddy O’s – 33 Union Street
2:00 – 3:00 – Hennessy’s – 25 Union Street
Bar schedule:
You will receive the entire schedule when you register. All the bars will be in the Faneuil Hall and Financial District areas. We are not releasing the schedule prior to the crawl, as we want to keep this event as exclusive as possible for your own comfort. Please note, the bars have the right to refuse entry to anyone due to bar capacity or personal incapacity. Also, you will need to show a valid license or ID to gain entry to each of the bars.
The musical chairs contest is scheduled to begin at around 1:15 at Paddy O’s
CASH IS KING
I know that bringing your card might be easy. But when tons of people are trying to order drinks, it takes a lot more time to open and close a tab than to pay with cash. Plus you’d be surprised about how many people forget to close their tabs at the end of the night and leave for home without their credit cards. There are multiple ATMs around Faneuil Hall…check one out!
Remember to drink responsibly and use public transportation. Don’t drink and drive!
