Margarita Monday – Chocolate
With Drinko de Mayo coming up, we’re working on margaritas at home. Last week we tried an avocado one. This week we’re going with chocolate.
Below is the recipe I used to make around 3 to 4 drinks
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup, plus more for the glasses
- 1 cup tequila
- 1/2 cup chocolate flavor liquor
- 1/3 cup Triple Sec
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Splash of lime juice
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- ice
A fund, Heroes of Beacon Street Fire, has been set up to assist the families of the two heroes who lost their lives. The funds raised here will be to assist the injured who remain in the hospital. Some have a very long recovery ahead. Drinko de Mayo is over a month away but we felt it was very important to contribute. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to this important and amazing fund raiser. We aim to crush their $5,000 goal.

Heroes of Beacon Street Fire Fund
On March 26th, two Boston Fire Fighters lost their lives when they fought a 9 alarm fire at 298 Beacon Street in Boston, MA. Firefighter Mike Kennedy and Lt. Ed Walsh from Engine 33/Ladder 15 died. FF Kennedy had served in the Marine Corps and Lt. Walsh has three children under the age of 10. More than a dozen other first responders were injured.

Margarita Monday – Avocado
Drinko de Mayo is our next official crawl. So I’ve got margaritas on my mind.
I took a try at making an avocado margarita. What could go wrong with a mix of tequila and omega-3 fatty acids?
Below is the recipe I used to make around 4 drinks
– 2 cups crushed ice
– 6 oz. tequila
– 4 avocados, peeled, sliced, and pitted
– 2 oz. triple sec
– 5 oz. lime juice
– salt on your glass (optional)
It came out pretty well. I used way more avacodo than the original recipe called for so it was nice and thick.

We’re glad to announce that Harbor City Photo Booth will be at Drinko de Mayo for free take home pictures. We’re very excited to be able to add this feature.

1 Week to go for Mardi Crawl!
Mardi Crawl is on 3/1/13. 1 week to go. We’re down to about 20 tickets. Ticket price will 
include: $3 or less drink specials at all the bars, Beads, Feather Mask, Stovepipe Hat, Koozie and Photo Booth.
We were able to book a boat earlier this year. We’ll have a much shorter walk in 2014 as our boat will be next to the aquarium. On the flip side, it’s a smaller boat. We’ll have room for only 250 – 300 people rather than 500+. Our early bird tickets went in record time. Get your regular tickets now.
