Harry Potter Trivia Night is Coming Back

Posted on

IMG_1707

We have our first champs. We had a very good time at our very first Harry Potter Trivia Night. Things went so well that we’re trying it again on March 2nd. Last night we had 25 teams compete and it was a full house for sure. This time we’re going to limit to 20 teams so people will have more breathing room. I know a few teams had to stand for awhile. We also have a baseline on what type of questions we should be asking so we are very excited. Get your tickets here.

Since it was so crowded, we had limited time with our photo booth. Next time we want to get more pictures. You can find posted photos here or if you like tagging they can also be found on Facebook.

Valentine Gras is February 13th. Your ticket includes $3 or less drink at each bar, Crawl In Boston Scarf, Light Up LED Rose, Beverage Mitt, Wallet Ninja (18 in 1 Multitool), Beads, Candy Wristband, Temporary Tattoos, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, 2 Photo Booths, Limbo Contest and No Covers at Scheduled Bars.

MMHO: SBN Local Craft Brewfest

Posted on

sbnThis past Friday, we attended the 6th SBN Local Craft Brewfest. The SBN (Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts) has a focus on local and sustainable businesses, so this is a festival you can feel good about attending.  All the vendors are local to New England, and you can taste beers and ciders, as well as locally distilled spirits.  They also have local musicians and food trucks, so it’s a great night out.  We’ve attended this event in the past, and they made a few changes this time around.  They moved the location from the relative splendor of the Moakley Courthouse to the slightly less aesthetically pleasing Cruiseport Boston, tucked further into the Seaport.  However, it was easy to get to by the Silver Line, made even more so by an especially helpful driver (who knew?) who realized a majority of the people on the bus were headed to the festival, and dropped us off directly in front of the building.  The space itself wasn’t bad, just not as nice a view as the courthouse has.  The set up was still nicely laid out, not too crowded and plenty of room. We splurged and went for the VIP tickets, which allowed for early access, vouchers for the food trucks, and a gift bag on the way out, which was filled with tchotchkes from various vendors, including Sam Adams pint glasses, bottle openers, and a ton of Kind Bars.   The event itself was amazing.  It was busy but not so crowded you had to wait in huge lines, and it was possible to actually chat with the vendors and learn about their products.  A word of warning, there are a lot of distilleries with liquor tastings, so we recommend eating something before you get there—you get small tastings, but they can add up!  Due to the relaxed nature, and getting to spend time with the vendors, we got a lot of ideas for some Thanksgiving and holiday cocktails.  For instance, we chatted with Lonnie from GrandTen Distillery about making a Cranberry Manhattan, which uses their Craneberry liquor as a float on the classic drink.  There were also samples of local food, and a few food trucks with food for purchase.  Overall, we would recommend checking out SBN’s next Local Craft Brewfest, and check out their website for their other upcoming events

Regular tickets now sold out for 12 Bars of X-Mas. We’re down to our Last Call batch. 12 Bars of X-Mas. Ticket includes $3 or less drink at each bar, Beverage Mitt, Winter Pom Hat, Santa Socks, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, Candy Cane, Temporary Tattoos, Photo Booth and No Covers at Scheduled Bars.

It’s starting to feel real

koozie 2015Memorial Day. It caught me by surprise. Have a great long weekend and remember that liquor stores are closed on Memorial Day so stock up before then.

Last night I was out and a friend approached me about the Pirate Crawl. He politely reminded me that we were closing in on 2 weeks. I knew it was coming but in my head June still felt so far away. And when the koozies arrived in the mail today…yeah..It’s starting to feel real. I need to figure out my costume. 7 years of these and it’s getting tougher to come up with something original.

Tickets for the Pirate Crawl that are on sale via Eventbrite. Bar Crawl, Booze Cruise, Pirates, Flags, Tattoos, Photo Booth and Limbo!

Drinko de Mayo Registration Info

Posted on Updated on

unnamedDrinko de Mayo returns this Saturday!

We have a few points of order to help make the day go as smoothly as possible:

Registration opens at 12:00 sharp and ends at 3:00.

You will need to bring either a printed Eventbrite ticket or show the app on your phone. If you don’t have a paper ticket or the phone app, you can use your ID to pick up your ticket. Please be ready when you get to the top of the line. We’ll be checking in hundreds of you and nobody wants to be stuck behind the person who doesn’t have any of their stuff ready.

Tickets are still available online. You can also purchase them at the door on Saturday for $20.00. The event exceeded our expectations and we didn’t order enough shirts but your ticket still includes $3 or less drink specials at all the bars, Sombrero, Mustache Necklace, Koozie, fake mustache, Temporary Tattoos, Limbo Contest with prizes for winners, Photo Booth and No Cover at Scheduled Bars

If you have an Early Bird, Regular or Last call ticket you will be getting a shirt. Please note that we ordered the shirts weeks ago and had to guesstimate on sizes. So shirts will be available by size or first come, first serve basis. We should be okay but if you show up later in registration you might get an XL shirt even though you wanted a small. We apologize for this in advance.

12:00 – 3:00 – Kinsale – 2 Center Plaza

Bar schedule:

You will receive the entire schedule when you register. All the bars will be in the Faneuil Hall and Financial District areas. We are not releasing the schedule prior to the crawl, as we want to keep this event as exclusive as possible for your own comfort. Please note, the bars have the right to refuse entry to anyone due to bar capacity or personal incapacity. Also, you will need to show a valid license or ID to gain entry to each of the bars.

CASH IS KING

I know that bringing your card might be easy. But when tons of people are trying to order drinks, it takes a lot more time to open and close a tab than to pay with cash. Plus you’d be surprised about how many people forget to close their tabs at the end of the night and leave for home without their credit cards. There are multiple ATMs around Faneuil Hall…check one out!

Remember to drink responsibly and use public transportation.  Don’t drink and drive!

We’re trying something new this time. Our good friends told us about Eversnap which gives everyone the ability to share to the same photo album. So we’d like you to share photos that you take on Saturday to the album so we can get as many perspectives as possible.

See you Saturday!

Drinko de Mayo – Tickets still available

Posted on Updated on

stlThey’re gone. We got a lot more interest than we anticipated when we ordered the shirts for Drinko de Mayo. We’ve added a ticket option that will get you all the stuff minus the shirt if you’d still like to attend. There’s not enough time left for us to order additional shirts and have them arrive on time. Sorry.

Pictures from last year are available here.

And check out our Pinterest page for inspiration

Pirate (way ahead of pace from our biggest ever of last year) and now Red, White & Brew (tickets on sale NOW).

More upcoming stuff

Believe or not, the Celtics are in the playoffs vs LeBron and the Cavs. The games have been competitive going into the final quarter. I don’t expect to win the series but we can support our feisty team at the Garden.

The Wine Riot is a personal favorite. Tickets are sold out but they do have a wait list.

The Boston Sailing Center is having their open house on Saturday and Sunday. Free sailing on the Boston Harbor.
