Crawl is Today

Posted on Updated on

It’s about that time Crawlers,

Our staff will be wearing this shirt

Today is our biggest crawl of the year.  We’ve been snowed in for weeks, so it’s time to come out and play!  We have three bars for each time slot, and there will be Crawl in Boston staff at each bar.  Look for us in our light up heart shirts!  We’ll be waiting to collect your $5 (or more) donation.  As always, exact change is always GREATLY appreciated and it keeps the line moving. If you haven’t already, take a minute to check out the charity’s webpage: http://www.juliesfamily.org/

We’ll be giving out wristbands and nametags as well as koozies. We are limited to 750 koozies on a first come, first served basis. Keep in mind that we ran out of all our koozies during the 1st bars last year. We will have plenty of wristbands and nametags. The wristbands will guarantee the drink specials and get you priority line privileges at the bars.

In the last couple of weeks, the RSVPs on the Facebook have skyrocketed. We know that not everyone actually shows up that RSVPs, but we still expect a big crowd. The bars know we’re coming and will be prepared, but we just want to remind everyone to have a good time and be kind to the bar staff and your fellow

crawlers. Some of the bars may fill up, so be patient and feel free to skip around on the schedule, the bars will all know to give the drink special. And you have plenty of options. You’ll definitely see crawlers all over Faneuil Hall.

V-Day Crawl
1st 750 get a Koozie

You don’t have to be at the first bar to donate and get your wristband and nametag. We’ll have staff during the first 35 minutes of every bar time slot. As stated before, we only have 750 koozies but we have over 2,000 wristbands and nametags.

For updates check out Twitter or Facebook. We’ll be updating all day to let you know where we’re at.

And take plenty of pictures and send them our way next week. We love them!

Red, pink, and black attire is encouraged, as are any brave cupids!  See you soon!

About 3 million people visit the Taj Mahal every year. This blog was viewed about 55,000 times in 2010. If it were the Taj Mahal, it would take about 7 days for that many people to see it.

This was a huge jump as the blog was viewed about 27,000 times in 2009.

In 2010, there were 54 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 157 posts. There were 78 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 17mb. That’s about 2 pictures per week.

The busiest day of the year was December 4th with 2,157 views.

Where did they come from?

The top referring sites in 2010 were facebook.com, calendar.boston.com, boston.going.com, hubnights.com, and boston.com.

Some visitors came searching, mostly for boston pub crawl, crawl in boston, pub crawl boston, 12 bars of christmas boston, and cupid.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  We hope you had a great holiday season.  2010 was huge for Crawl in Boston and the Socialize In Boston family. We’re looking forward to an even more outstanding 2011.  2010 brought us a big increase in crawl attendance and we raised a record amount of money for our charities.  2010 also brought the start of our mini golf , bocce and pub pong leagues, which were tons of fun.  Mini golf and bocce start up on January 12, and a few team spots still remain.  Pub pong will be back later in the year.

To give you a taste of what we have in store for 2011, In about a month, it’s time for our  biggest  crawl of the year, the Valentines Day Crawl on February  12.  March 5th will bring us a brand new crawl, the Mardi Gras Crawl.  Then we’ll be heading back out to the open seas in May with the Pirate Crawl.  We’re also working on a few different afternoon competition-style parties (such as our pub pong tournament), so look forward to hearing  about those in the future.

Thanks for making 2010 an amazing year to Socialize in Boston!  We look forward to knocking one back with you soon.

Happy Holidays!

Hello Bocce Ballers and Mini Golfers!
We hope you had a great holiday season, I know we did, especially now that the Pats have locked home field advantage.  After the first of the year, you have a few weeks to rest from the craziness of the holidays, but we know you’ll start getting restless soon….just in time for the start of bocce and minigolf!  We can’t wait to see our seasoned returning players as well as meet our rookies.  We know you’ll all have a great season.  If you’re traveling, make it back to Boston safe and sound, and if you’re here, stay inside warm and dry….maybe have a cocktail or two to keep you nice and toasty.  Happy New Year!
We do have spots remaining so if you still want to play in either league (or both!), beginning January 12th, there’s still time. No official registration date has been set yet. Once we fill, we’ll close it. But to guarantee your shirt by the first week, please register by Wednesday December 29th. Whether you have a full team or looking to join a team we’ll be able to help. More details at
Cheers!

Indoor Bocce & Mini Golf

Posted on Updated on

We’re more than just bar crawls

The registrations for the Winter 2011 Putt In Boston Mini Golf and the Bocce In Boston Indoor Bocce seasons are now open!

These 6 week Wednesday night leagues will not only let you show off your indoor sport skills, but will also give you the chance to socialize and network with other Bostonians. Matches begin January 12th and will take place at Hennessy’s and Paddy O’s which are located in Faneuil Hall. A league shirt is included in our affordable registration costs and we’ll always have a $2.00 beer special for you. So instead of sitting home and watching re-runs on hump day this winter, get out and have a little fun with your friends (and make some new ones while you’re at it). More info at Putt In Boston and Bocce In Boston.

12 Bars of X-Mas Update

Posted on Updated on

Hello Crawlers!

The 12 Bars of X-Mas is TODAY. I hope you’ve found your ugly holiday sweater or Santa Suit and are raring to deck the halls. I just have a few reminders/orders of business to ensure everything goes smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time.

1.) Holiday outfits aren’t required but highly encouraged. You can see some pictures from 2009 here.

2.) You don’t need to show up to the first bar to join the crawl. We may run out of koozies (limited to 400), but you’re welcome to join at any point during the event. We’ll have staff at all the scheduled bars as capacity allows.

3.) PLEASE come with the exact amount that you would like to give for your donation. We know it may be a pain, but it really keeps things moving if we don’t have to find/make change. If you haven’t, take a minute to look at the website for our charity, Horizons for Homeless Children. 100% of your donation goes to them, and it’s a great organization. As always, we thank our Crawlers for their extreme generosity!

4.) Thanks to our many many dedicated crawlers, the turnouts have been huge.  If we get another big turnout like we did for Halloween and the scheduled bar fills up, you can skip around the schedule.  For instance, Trinity is on the schedule at 4:00, but will be ready to welcome crawlers at 3:00, etc.   The bars know we’re coming and should be prepared.  We just want to remind everyone to have a good time and be kind to the bar staff and your fellow crawlers.  We don’t want anyone getting on Santa’s naughty list!  If you don’t get a chance to see us, you can always go to Horizon for Homeless Children’s website and make a donation there.

5.) For updates check out Twitter or Facebook. We’ll be updating all day to let you know where we’re at.

The SCHEDULE is here (as mentioned earlier, feel free to freelance and skip around as many bars may reach capacity early, you can always go back later)

Thanks, and hope to see you on Saturday. Cheers!

Turkey Day is upon us. Follow these simple steps to ensure you still fit into your desk next Monday.

1) Holiday Sweater – you’ve just put on 8 pounds in the last 35 minutes. Hide it while being festive.

2) Top Off – Grandma can’t keep tabs on how many Hottie Totties you’ve downed if you never let your cup get more than half empty.

3) Hide and Seek – Hide a couch cushion. When your cousins all scramble for valuable sofa real estate after the feast, you can arrive late and still get VIP seating.

4) Stretch – do a few toe touches prior to overeating. No, this won’t clear any stomach room but relatives will think twice before grabbing the last helping of turkey out from you.

5) Smile – You are surrounded by loving friends and family. You don’t have to buy presents, put on a costume, or hide eggs. Fully enjoy this holiday with people you love.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon at our upcoming events. 12 Bars of Christmas is December 4th, the Bocce and Mini Golf seasons begin January 12th and our biggest crawl of the year, Valentine’s, is on February 12th.
