bounce

This summer, you can bounce in the largest inflatable castle this world has to offer.

The Big Bounce America, which holds the Guinness World record for largest inflatable castle, will stop in Revere this July. Inside, the castle includes ball pits, a basketball court, climbing towers, confetti blasts, and a jumbo slide, all centered around a DJ spinning tunes and “nightclub quality sound and lights,” according to a press release.

12 Bars of Christmas Check In Info

Posted on Updated on

eventbrite copy_edited-3

Hello 12 Bars of Christmas Crawlers,

We have a few points of order to help make the Saturday as smooth as possible.

Check in begins at 12:00 sharp and ends at 3:00.

You will need to bring either a printed Eventbrite ticket or show the app on your phone. If you don’t have a paper ticket or the phone app, you can use your ID to pick up your ticket. Please be ready when you get to the top of the line. We’ll be checking in hundreds of crawlers and nobody wants to be stuck behind the person who doesn’t have any of their stuff ready. Only the ticket buyer needs to be present. If multiple tickets were bought, you’ll get all your goodies at once and you can pass on the extras to your friends.

We still have a handful of tickets left

Registration includes Winter Pom Hat, Koozie, Jingle Bell Bracelet, Light Up Necklace, Candy Cane, Temporary Tattoos, Photo Booth and No Covers at Scheduled Bars

Check In takes place at the following:

12:00 – 12:50 – The White Bull – 1 Union Street

1:00 – 3:00 – Blackstone – 15 Union Street

Bar schedule:

We have 12 bars in the Faneuil Hall/Financial District area planned. There are a few other big crawls planned from another group that day. We’re planning to visit places not associated with their schedule but we might run into conflicts. The bar managers have assured me that we will be okay.

You will receive the entire schedule when you check in on Saturday. We are not releasing the schedule prior to the crawl, as we want to keep this event as exclusive as possible for your own comfort. Please note, the bars have the right to refuse entry to anyone due to bar capacity or personal incapacity. Also, you will need to show a valid license or ID to gain entry to each of the bars (this is the bars’ policy).

CASH IS KING

I know that bringing your card might be easy. But when tons of people are trying to order drinks, it takes a lot more time to open and close a tab than to pay with cash. Plus you’d be surprised about how many people forget to close their tabs at the end of the night and leave for home without their credit cards. There are multiple ATMs around Faneuil Hall…check one out. Also, remember to tip your bartenders!

Remember to drink responsibly and use public transportation. Don’t drink and drive!

Cabernet Cranberry Blueberry Sauce

Posted on Updated on

Last year for Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving, I experimented with a Vanilla Bourbon Cranberry Sauce. This year I tried my hand at a Cabernet Cranberry Blueberry Sauce.  I found the original recipe here but made a couple of small changes after doing a few batches.

Ingredients:

One 8-ounce bag fresh cranberries

8-ounces frozen blueberries

3/4 cups of Cabernet Sauvignon or your favorite red wine

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a large kettle. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring intermittently. Make sure kettle has room for sauce to at least triple in volume. The juices from the berries release and as the mixture boils rapidly, it will foam and a too-small pot will easily overflow.

Reduce heat to low and allow sauce to simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes, or until reduced and thickened slightly, and most of the cranberries have burst. Sauce will thicken more as it cools.

Transfer to heat-safe jars or containers with lids. Allow sauce to cool at room temperature before refrigerating. Sauce will keep airtight in the refrigerator for at least 2 weeks.
