Wear Boston Bar Crawl

Posted on

BostonStrongRibbonOriginally we we planned to have our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crawl today but with all the uncertainty yesterday, I had to postpone to next Saturday it with safety being the #1 priority. Late last night we caught him! So now I have a whole afternoon open. So I’m borrowing an idea from “Wear Boston Day” and doing an impromptu “Wear Boston Bar Crawl”

So lets all break out our Bruins, Sox, Celts, Pats, Revs, Cannons, Breakers, Lobsters, Tea Men, Boston based colleges… Whatever it is as long as it says “BOSTON” on it and wear it this Friday to show support and pass this onto your friends lists as well because “WE ARE ALL BOSTON!

I know many of you can’t make it to the ninja turtle crawl next week so if you want to wear your outfit today, feel free to do so.

I’m doing this on the fly so I do have a makeshift schedule but it’s in no way 100% accurate. I’ll have some koozies and name tags available. I’m going to ask for a $5 donation for that stuff in which 100% of the proceeds will go to The One Fund for the Marathon victims.

Schedule (subject to change)

1:00 – Paddy O’sOneFundFlag-sm

1:45 – The Point

2:30 – Hennessy’s

3:15 – The Place

4:00 – Barney Fanning’s

4:45 – Kitty O’Shea’s

5:30 – The Stadium

6:15 – Sissy K’s

7:00 – Hong Kong

7:45 – Wild Rover

12 Bowls

Posted on

Last week I came across this article about the 12 best scorpion bowls in Boston via Boston Eater.

I thought it would be a nice challenge for 2013, perhaps one bowl per month. So per how most of how these drinking things go, I shared with a few people and it went from doing it over a year to doing it in one day. We had to change to schedule a bit to make sure we could hit 12 places but we’re planning on doing it to not only finish off 2012 but also to celebrates Cons birthday.

The best bowls had places all over. So I modified so we could do it all via MBTA.

So we did it. And it was an adventure for sure. Cons decided that a ranking system should be put in place so we did. Do I remember being at each place? YES. Do I remember how I got to each place? NO

The results are in…Shanghai is the winner, with Haru a close second!

12 Bowls

Golden Temple 1651 Beacon St, Brookline (Washington Square)

Chef Chow’s House 230 Harvard St, Brookline (Coolidge Corner)

Osaka 14 Green St, Brookline (Coolidge Corner)

Cactus Club 939 Boylston St, Back Bay (Hynes Convention Center)

Samurai Boston 827 Boylston St, Back Bay (Hynes, Copley, Prudential)

Haru 55 Huntington Ave, Back Bay (Prudential or Copley)

Red Lantern 39 Stanhope St, South End (Back Bay Station)

Chau Chow City 83 Essex St, Chinatown (Chinatown)

Super Hero / Villain Crawl Update

Posted on Updated on

Hello Crawlers!

The Super Hero / Villain Crawl is TODAY. I hope you’ve found your perfect costume and are raring to crawl with us. I just have a few reminders/orders of business to ensure everything goes smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time.

1.) Super themed attire isn’t required but are highly encouraged.

2.) You don’t need to show up to the first bar to join the crawl. We may run out of koozies but you’re welcome to join at any point during the event.

3.) PLEASE come with the exact amount that you would like to give for your donation. We know it may be a pain, but it really keeps things moving if we don’t have to find/make change.  And if we don’t have change, you’ll have to break your $20 yourself and come back through the line. If you haven’t, take a minute to look at the website for our charity: Cradles to Crayons. It’s a great organization. As always, we thank our Crawlers for their extreme generosity!

4.) For updates check out Twitter or Facebook. We’ll be updating all day to let you know where we’re at.

5.) I’m going to say it again. PLEASE come with the exact amount you’d like to donate.

6.) Have fun, stay safe and be ready to make new friends.

In other news, Pirate Crawl tickets are now on sale. This will sell out. Get your tickets today.

Thanks, and hope to see you soon. Cheers!

Who is Crawl in Boston?

Crawl in Boston is a social networking group that gives professionals a chance to meet new people in a casual and fun atmosphere. People of all ages have gathered to join the bar crawls, and we’ve raised money  for local charities. We also spread the word about other similar events we’ve heard about, as well as new places and bar/restaurant specials. We’re bringing people together, one drink at a time for local charities

What is Cradles to Crayons?

Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is an innovative nonprofit that provides, free of charge, disadvantaged children with the essential items that all kids need in order to flourish. When you donate to Cradles to Crayons, you know that you are helping the children in your community who need it most.

What does this event cost?

We are asking for $5.00 to attend. Please keep in mind that proceeds of your donation supports Cradles to Crayons. Everyone who donates will be receiving:

*Crawl in Boston Nametag

*Crawl in Boston Beverage Koozie

*Crawl in Boston Wristband – To guarantee drink specials and no covers

Crawl in Boston wants to provide you with as much fun as possible for as little as possible! – Crawlers are responsible for their own drinks.

Pictures from some of our past events can be found here

How Do I Sign Up?

We don’t have official registration. We only ask you RSVP on the Facebook event ASAP. This gives us a better idea on how many people are coming. We can better arrange our schedule so the bars have enough staff to accommodate you all. Also helps let us know how many koozies to order.

What to wear?
