FINAL HALLOWEEN UPDATE

Posted on Updated on

Hello Crawlers!

The Halloween Crawl is TODAY. I hope you’ve found your perfect costume and are raring to crawl with us. I just have a few reminders/orders of business to ensure everything goes smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time.

1.) Costumes aren’t required but are highly encouraged.

2.) You don’t need to show up to the first bar to join the crawl. We may run out of koozies (limited to 750*), but you’re welcome to join at any point during the event. We’ll have staff at all the scheduled bars as capacity allows. In the past, some crawlers will come register and then hit a bar scheduled for later.

*We have some additional koozies from prior crawls so we’ll be bringing another 100 or so to get as many in your hands as possible

3.) PLEASE come with the exact amount that you would like to give for your donation. We know it may be a pain, but it really keeps things moving if we don’t have to find/make change.  And if we don’t have change, you’ll have to break your
$20 yourself and come back through the line. If you haven’t, take a minute to look at the website for our charity, Julie’s Family Charity. It’s a great organization. As always, we thank our Crawlers for their extreme generosity!

4.) Thanks to our many, many dedicated crawlers, the turnouts have been huge. If we get a turnout like we did for Halloween last year and the scheduled bar fills up, you can skip around the schedule.  For instance, Trinity is on the schedule at 5:45, but will be ready to welcome crawlers much earlier. The bars know we’re coming and should be prepared.  We just want to remind everyone to have a good time and be kind to the bar staff and your fellow crawlers. If you don’t get a chance to see us, you can always go to Julie’s Family website and make a donation there.

5.) For updates check out Twitter or Facebook. We’ll be updating all day to let you know where we’re at.

6.) I’m going to say it again. PLEASE come with the exact amount you’d like to donate.

The SCHEDULE is here (as mentioned earlier, feel free to freelance and skip around as many bars may reach capacity early, you can always go back later)

Thanks, and hope to see you tomorrow. Cheers!

Halloween Crawl this Saturday

Posted on Updated on

Hello Crawlers! We’re excited to see you on Saturday at our 8th annual Halloween costume crawl.

As always, we’ll be collecting your $5 (or more!) donation. Exact change is always GREATLY appreciated and it keeps the line moving (and trust us, everyone else is also thinking, “I’m sure they have change for me” too). This is one of our biggest events of the year so please bring exact change.

Please remember that proceeds benefit Julie’s Family charity.  If you haven’t already, take a minute to check out our charity’s webpage:

We’ll be giving out wristbands, nametags as well as koozies (limited to the first 750). We ordered the koozies 3 weeks ago and had under 400 RSVP’s. At last look we have about 1,100.Please keep in mind that the bars WILL be crowded. We and the bars’ staff thank you in advance for your patience.

We will have staff during the first 30 minutes of each scheduled bar for registration.
The bars have been notified about the number of people attending so they will be ready if you decide to go early.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates. There’s a chance things
may be too busy for us to set up at certain bars so we also may skip around.

Our next crawl event will be on 12/3 for our 12 Bars of Xmas. Stayed tuned for
more details.

Who is Crawl in Boston?

Crawl in Boston is a social networking group that gives professionals a chance to meet new people in a casual and fun atmosphere. People of all ages have gathered to join the bar crawls, and we’ve raised money and goods for local charities. We also spread the word about other similar events we’ve heard about, as well as new places and bar/restaurant specials. We’re bringing people together, one drink at a time for local charities.

Who are Julie’s Family?

Julie’s is a community-based family support and education program that is committed to the development of strong, healthy family functioning.

Julie’s breaks the cycle of poverty among low-income, at-risk families by providing services that enable mothers and their children to become healthy, responsible, successful at life, and economically self-sufficient members of their communities.

What does this event cost?

We are asking for $5.00 to attend. Please keep in mind that proceeds of your optional donation supports Julie’s Family Charity.

Update

Hello Crawlers!

The Halloween Crawl is a mere few hours away!  I hope you’ve gotten in all your last minute trips to iParty and will really wow us this year with your costumes.  I just have a few reminders/orders of business to ensure tomorrow goes smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time.

1.) You don’t need to show up to the first bar to join the crawl.  We may run out of koozies, but you’re welcome to join at any point during the event. We’ll have staff at all the scheduled bars. Can’t find us? Find someone with a nametag and they’ll point you in our direction.

2.) PLEASE come with the exact amount that you would like to give for your donation.  We know it may be a pain, but it really keeps things moving if we don’t have to find/make change.  If you haven’t, take a minute to look at the website for our charity, the Hattie B. Cooper Community Center, which is located locally in Roxbury.  100% of your donation goes to them.  As always, we thank our Crawlers for their extreme generosity!

3.) In the last week, the RSVPs on the Facebook have skyrocketed from 300 to over 1100.  We know that not everyone actually shows up that RSVPs, but we still expect a big crowd.  The bars know we’re coming and should be prepared, but we just want to remind everyone to have a good time and be kind to the bar staff and your fellow crawlers.   If we do get this number of people, the bars may fill up, so be patient and feel free to skip around on the schedule, the bars will all know to give the drink special.  You’ll definitely see crawlers all over Faneuil Hall.

4.) My whistle will be pretty ineffective, so for updates check out twitter.com/crawlinboston or Facebook.  We’ll be updating all day.

We could not be more excited for tomorrow!  See you there!

Cheers!
