The longest running, biggest and best Halloween Bar Crawl Boston has to offer is back and better than ever!

Please join Crawl in Boston on 10/22/16 to tour the Faneuil Hall area. Get your costumes ready! They get better and better every year. We’re moving it up a week this year. Last year there were a lot of other groups out for Halloween weekend that caused lines and overcrowding. So we decided to change dates. It might cost us some crawlers but we’re way more invested in your experience.

Here are just some pictures from the past few years

2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015

And here’s our Pinterest page with ideas

We realize that you work hard for your money. We always want to give you the best experience ever. Buying a ticket should always be more than just having access to the bars.

Your ticket price will include:

Drink specials at each barbanana

Beverage Mitt

Selfie Stick

Koozie

Drawstring Bag

Photo Booth

Candy

Tickets are non-refundable. You must arrive to register by 3:00 or your ticket may be resold. Registration will be split up by last name at multiple bars for check in. So if you’re coming with a group it might be easier for one person to buy the tickets in bulk and pick up all your goodies at once.

Welcome back. Cheers! -C.I.B.

MMHO: Corner Tavern

Posted on

We’re introducing a new feature on the website.  We’ll use the Monday Morning Hangover to  review places we’ve gone or things we’ve done when we’re NOT crawling.  Restaurants, bars, tastings, events, we’ll cover them here.

Corner Tavern is Sunday morning favorite for Team Crawl in Boston.  Small and unassuming in the basement of a Back Bay cornerbrownstone, Corner Tavern offers a relaxed atmosphere and good food, and is perfect for the morning after a crazy night out.  The staff are laid back friendly, always up for trading weekend stories or  comparing fantasy football teams. They make a mean Bloody Mary, and they have a small selection of interesting taps.  Food wise, they offer a small but good selection.  For brunch you can get a variety of egg based dishes.  The Eggs Benedict are served classically and always perfectly cooked, served with roasted potatoes.  The Duck Confit hash is hearty and delicious. They also offer a waffle sandwich and a breakfast sandwich.  You can also get regular sandwiches for lunch like the Rosalita (turkey, gouda, slaw, and chipotle mayo, pressed into gooey goodness), a pulled pork sandwich, and a Buffalo chicken wrap (sandwiches are served with choice of roasted potatoes, pasta salad, or mixed greens).  The star of the sandwich selection, however, is the meatloaf burger.  Huge and decadent, this is definitely a hangover helper. A tasty slice of meatloaf served on a sturdy brioche bun, with chipotle ketchup, bacon, and cheese, this is an epic sandwich experience that has to be tried at least once.  They have the Sunday Ticket during football season, albeit they show the games on very small screens throughout the bar.  So it’s good if you want to catch a game, but also hang out with your friends with football not dominating the whole experience.  They also lunch and dinner menus, including $2 Taco Tuesdays and weekly shot specials. Prices are decent, especially for Back Bay.  Corner Tavern is a hotspot on weekend nights, usually full and boisterous.  It’s a good for a quiet drink during the week, especially before a Sox Game if you want to avoid the crowds on Landsdowne.

The Halloween Crawl tickets are going strong. Ticket includes Drink specials at each bar, Beverage Mitt, Selfie Stick, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, Photo booth, Candy and no covers at scheduled bars.

There are other Halloween themed bar crawls. Make sure you get your tickets via Eventbrite from Crawl In Boston. You won’t get the same goodies with the other events.

Some local places to pick up a costume include Dorothy’s Boutique, New Millennium Costumes, Party City and The Garment District. Just don’t wait until the last minute. You’ll probably be waiting in line.

Have a great week -C.I.B.

MMHO: Yamato II

We’re introducing a new feature on the website.  We’ll use the Monday Morning Hangover to  review places we’ve gone or thingsy2 we’ve done when we’re NOT crawling.  Restaurants, bars, tastings, events, we’ll cover them here.

All you can eat sushi has come to Back Bay.  Yamato II (the original is in Brookline) has opened in the former Vlora space on Boylston, right near the Copley T stop.  The space is well lit and cheerful with a mostly friendly staff.  The menu is varied, and you can order a la carte, but the main event is the AYCE.  Sunday to Thursday lunch is $17.50 and dinner is $25.00 (add a dollar for Friday and Saturday).  The AYCE portion includes the whole menu:  appetizers, rice, noodles, etc.  We didn’t want to fill up on those, so we only sampled the crab Rangoon, which were good but pretty standard.  On the sushi menu, you can choose sushi, sashimi, or rolls.  Tuna and Salmon sashimi are only available during dinner, and specialty rolls are a dollar extra. There is a two hour limit, and if you  have any leftovers, you’re charged double, so you don’t want to over order.  y1However, you can order multiple times, so you can go conservative and order more if you’re still hungry. Our server brought us fresh ordering sheets with our first platter of rolls, so we had time to contemplate.  We started with tuna sashimi and octopus sushi, followed by a selection of makimono.  They were all fresh and tasted quite good.  The Crazy Maki, with shrimp tempura, was especially tasty.  We got the New Spicy Scallop roll (from the special menu), and it was one of the best rolls we had, and worth the dollar upcharge.  We ordered another round of sashimi and one more roll, and then threw in the towel, much to the dismay of our server—it seemed like she thought we were giving up.  Overall, Yamato II is a fun atmosphere and a good choice for a different night out in Back Bay.

The Halloween Crawl tickets are going strong. Ticket includes Drink specials at each bar, Beverage Mitt, Selfie Stick, Koozie, Drawstring Backpack, Photo booth, Candy and no covers at scheduled bars.

Halloween Crawl Registration Info

Posted on Updated on

IMG_0054We can’t wait to see you on Saturday for the Halloween Crawl.

We have a few points of order to help make the day as smooth as possible:

Registration opens at 12:00 sharp and ends at 3:00.

You will need to bring either a printed Eventbrite ticket or show the app on your phone. If you don’t have a paper ticket or the phone app, you can use your ID to pick up your ticket. Please be ready when you get to the top of the line. We’ll be checking in hundreds of you and nobody wants to be stuck behind the person who doesn’t have any of their stuff ready.

Registration will be by last name by ticket buyer:

A – G  – Kinsale – 2 Center Plaza

H – P – Paddy O’s – 33 Union Street

Q – Z -Grand Canal – 57 Canal Street

AT THIS POINT WE ARE NOT MAKING ANY MORE CHANGES TO THE GUEST LIST. OUR GIFT BAGS HAVE BEEN SPLIT UP AND SENT TO THE BARS ALREADY.We realize that you may be separated from friends at the beginning but we’ve found this is the quickest way to get everyone registered. Once we have you signed in you’ll get your full schedule and you can meet your friends at any of our scheduled bars.

Please note that there are a few other Halloween Bar Crawls on Saturday. And there’s been some confusion regarding tickets. If you didn’t buy your ticket on Eventbrite and it doesn’t say Crawl In Boston on it you are with a different group.

We will have a few tickets available for day of sales for $30. These are on a first come, first serve basis. EXACT CHANGE ONLY. They can be purchased at either of the above scheduled registration bars.

Bar schedule:

You will receive the entire schedule when you register. We have 12 – 14 bars total (still working on adding). All the bars will be in the Faneuil Hall and Financial District areas. We are not releasing the schedule prior to the crawl, as we want to keep this event as exclusive as possible for your own comfort. Please note, the bars have the right to refuse entry to anyone due to bar capacity or personal incapacity. Also, you will need to show a valid license or ID to gain entry to each of the bars.

CASH IS KING

I know that bringing your card might be easy. But when tons of people are trying to order drinks, it takes a lot more time to open and close a tab than to pay with cash. Plus you’d be surprised about how many people forget to close their tabs at the end of the night and leave for home without their credit cards. There are multiple ATMs around Faneuil Hall…check one out!

Remember to drink responsibly and use public transportation.  Don’t drink and drive!

Halloween Crawl is just 4 days away

Posted on Updated on

DSC03121It’s Halloween Crawl week. We still have a handful of wristband only tickets available. It’s getting close to where the number of bars we have the capacity won’t work out. Worked out better contract this year so we will have less people without wristbands able to get in without paying cover. I’d love, love, love to keep selling tickets and we’ve already added an additional 2 bars this week. But we’re more concerned with your safety and ability to get a drink without waiting an hour. All the bars have been notified and will be staffed properly.eventbrite

We hope to have registration bars ready for you tomorrow. Please note that this might be delayed as we’re still trying to add at least one more place and we want to give you the most accurate info that we have.

Here are some pictures from years past…2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013
