FAQs

What is Crawl In Boston?

Crawl in Boston is a social networking group that organizes bar crawls around the Boston area.

What is a bar crawl?

A bar crawl is an event that lets participants experience different venues in one organized event.

Who can be a part of Crawl in Boston?

Anyone who is looking for a fun time, wants to meet new people, and raise money for local charities.  While the majority of events are comprised of people in their 20s and 30s, people of all ages (21+, of course) have come and enjoyed the bar crawls.

What’s the schedule?

We organize 6 -7 crawls per year. Check here for the latest schedule updates

Can I see some pictures?

Sure. Here are some from our most recent events.

How can I get my bar on the schedule?

Contact us at crawlinboston@gmail.com and perhaps we can make it work

How do I join Crawl in Boston?

Just show up to events!  Keep an eye on the website or the Facebook page for updates, but we are an informal group.  There’s no official membership, just friends of the crawl.

Does it cost anything to participate in a bar crawl?

We ask for an optional donation, and in return, crawlers get nametags as well as giveaways such as koozies. We also give out prizes thanks to wonderful sponsors.  Our goal is to meet new people, and provide a fun experience, and help others while doing so!  Local charities we have raised money for include Birthday Wishes, Jumpstart, and Horizons for Homeless Children.

There are no covers for the bars, and crawlers are responsible for their own drinks…while drinking responsibly, of course!  Crawl in Boston encourages participants to take the T or a cab.

Really…do I have to donate? I can join the crawl anyway right?

Yeah…you don’t have to donate but…

As the pub crawls are now huge, the bars and I have an agreement. Anyone with a wristband gets in first. So some bars either (1) only let in people with wristbands or take the opportunity to charge a $5-$10 cover to enter their bar if you’re not with us. This happens especially for the bars that occur later in the evening and have a regular cover or crowd already. So in the long run, it’s cheaper to just donate. You’ll get some freebies as well. Also – guys and girls are more likely to talk with you if you have the wristband and nametag that all the crawlers are wearing. And honestly, if you don’t want to donate $5.00 to charity, this probably isn’t the best group for you.

Do I get free drinks?

No – drinks are not included. That would be illegal in Massachusetts. We do work ahead however to ensure all the bars do have drink specials for our participants.

Do I have to show up at the first bar to participate?

Nope, you can show up at any of our scheduled spots. But keep in mind that we may run out of our giveaways earlier during a crawl. First come, first serve.

Crawl In Boston does not involve or require any of its participants to consume alcoholic beverages. If you choose to purchase and/or consume an alcoholic beverage at a licensed establishment, then you do so by your own choice and in agreement with the terms and conditions of the licensed venue operators and the state in which they operate within. In addition if you do choose to consume alcohol then you a required to do so responsibly and never get behind the wheel and operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Remember Friends Do Not Let Friends Drink and Drive.
